About Darren Nash

With the exception of a few years as a bookseller, I have worked in trade publishing since 1989, holding positions across a number of disciplines. After five years as a sales representative with Random House, I moved to the UK in 1998, where I worked in audio and marketing for Simon & Schuster, before succeeding SF legend John Jarrold as editor of their SF & fantasy imprint, Earthlight. After Earthlight fell victim to a corporate restructure, I moved to Little, Brown to work on the Orbit and Atom imprints, as editor and then editorial director. In 2010, I joined Orion as Digital Publisher where I launched Gollancz’s SF Gateway ebook programme, which I ran until leaving the company to return to Australia in 2017.

Books I’ve edited have won the Aurealis, BSFA, Ditmar, Philip K. Dick and Prometheus Awards, and been shortlisted for the Hugo, Arthur C. Clarke, British Fantasy and John W. Campbell Memorial Awards.

I have appeared on panels at Worldcon, World Fantasy Convention, Continuum, Eastercon and British FantasyCon, and been empanelled as a judge for the Aurealis Awards.

I currently work in digital for an independent Australian publisher and edit on a freelance basis.

‘Darren is a wonderful editor – he really gets SF and is great fun to work with!’
